About the Team
The Florida Gators softball team represents the University of Florida and is one of the most successful programs in NCAA Division I softball. Led for many years by head coach Tim Walton, the Gators have built a reputation as a consistent national powerhouse.
Florida’s key achievements include two NCAA national championships (2014 and 2015), where they became back-to-back champions and established themselves among the elite programs in college softball. The team has also made multiple appearances in the Women’s College World Series (WCWS), reaching the finals several times, including strong runs in 2009, 2011, and 2017.
In addition to national success, the Gators have dominated the SEC (Southeastern Conference) with multiple SEC regular season and tournament titles, consistently finishing near the top of one of the toughest conferences in college softball.
